Smart Skin Array Technology™

PATSI is a pioneer in the "new" technology presently known as Electronic Textiles. PATSI holds nine worldwide patents relating to the manufacture, design and application specific use of this opto/optoelectronic textile (SSAT™ technologies).

PATSI has continued to enhance its patented Technology: Optical Data Link/Cable/Connector technology, called Smart Skin Array Technology (SSAT™) to create a variety of high performance, optical interconnect solutions that are scalable, flexible, and protocol independent. The Company's SSAT product family consists of data transport links i.e. cable/connectors, backplanes, motherboards, switches, and various termination products, as well as textiles incorporating optical and/or optical/electronic capabilities for sensing and other type applications.

This diagram illustrates a plug and play product for the Infineon Paroli 12 channel optoelectronic translation devices. Similar plug and play products exist using the MT form factor. For any significant volume assembly link we would fabricate interconnects using plug and play approaches.

PATSI's high-density optical products integrate cabling products with both passive optical connectors/couplers and optoelectronic switches to address a broad spectrum of uses ranging from Internet access to military aircraft fly-by-light. PATSI's goal is to offer a total photonic infrastructure for data and telecommunications utilization, as well as providing an enabling technology for wide area sensing.

This generation of optical fabric specifically provides:
